The numerous direct routes make the city easily accessible with a minimum of travelling time. There are frequent flights from major European hubs; thirty daily to Oslo, six daily to Copenhagen, four to Amsterdam, two to Frankfurt, two to London Gatwick, one to London Heathrow, two to Stockholm and three times weekly to New York. There are also direct routes to Paris, Munich, Zürich, Madrid, Hamburg – and over 40 other destinations. Bergen Airport is situated about 16 km south of the city center.
